Android 4.4, Kitkat, Android mobile operating system ka codename hai. Ye Android mobile operating system series ka eleventh version hai, jo ki September 3, 2013 me release hua tha. Kitkat ka primary focus operating system ko optimize or limited sources wale entry-level devices ki performance improve karna tha. 

May 2019 tak, Google statistics ke according sabhi android devices me se 6.9% devices abhi bhi Kitkat use karte hai.

Android 4.4 ka main objective low-end devices ke better performance ke lie platform optimize karne ka tha, bina kisi functionality or overall capabilities ke sath compromise karke. Low-end devices 512 MB RAM or km ke hote hai. API ka use karke apps low RAM devices ko detect kar sakta hai and us according apni functionality ki change kar sakta hai. Webview components ko update kia gaya jis se Google Chrome rendering engine ke version ka use kia ja sake. 

Kitkat zram ko bhi support karta hai. New Storage Access Framework API apps ko consistent manner me files retrieve karne ko allow karta hai. New system file picker users ko various sources se file access karne ke lie allow karta hai. Ek public API text messeging clients ko develop or manage karne ke lie introduce kia, sath me Sensor batching, step detection or counter API’s bhi add kie gae.
